A. Yes. Most importantly, you should have a good teacher.  He or she will begin with rudimentary exercises and progress as you become proficient.
Q. Should I buy bagpipes before I join the band?
A. NO.
Q. Is there anything else I should buy to start learning?
A. You must get a practice chanter which resembles a recorder and costs about $100.
Q. How long before I move from the chanter to the pipes?
A. That depends on how fast you learn. It varies from person to person.
Some people who have a musical background may be playing the pipes in months. Some, it may take a year or more. Discipline, dedication and the amount of practice you put into learning will determine when you will be playing the pipes.

A. Different teachers prefer different tutors. Generally, Logan's Tutor or the College of Piping Tutor are preferred.
